How to Choose an E-liquid Flavor Online
The internet offers an overwhelming variety of e-liquids, so many that it can be difficult to choose. There is nothing more disappointing than getting completely psyched about what sounds like an awesome flavour and building anticipation as it gets shipped and steeped, until you take that long-awaited first inhale, only to find out it tastes like shoe polish. Obviously, there is going to be a lot of trial and error involved before you know what types of e-juices you prefer, but it can also be an expensive and wasteful pursuit, so there should be some way of narrowing down the choices. There is. Be adventurous, but do so with educated guesses, and recycle the disgusting experiments.
Forget your preconceived notions. I was certain I would love sweet flavours because I have such a sweet tooth, so I tried every sweet I could find. However, I never truly loved vaping before I found a fruity menthol. Keep in mind flavours do not always taste the same in e-liquid as they do in other situations. Most vapers dislike tobacco because the taste is so different in e-juice. I am addicted to chocolate but have yet to find a chocolate e-juice I can stand. To me, banana e-liquids tend to taste like those horrible banana cereals I can’t stomach, even though I still love peeling open a fresh banana every morning. When buying e-liquid online, forget everything you think you know about what you will like and experiment.
Of course, the safest ways to experiment are sample packs and reviews. Try to buy sample packs with a variety of flavours. If you are completely new to vaping, it is even better if you can find a sample pack that includes flavours from different categories, i.e. fruit, dessert, etc. If sample packs are not an option, the next best solution is to look for reviews of certain flavours. While reviews can be hit and miss since tastes vary so much, several very positive reviews may make it worth trying an unknown flavour. Sample packs and reviews make buying e-liquids online a little less overwhelming.
Even so, you will still find yourself stuck with flavours you dislike. Before you build up a huge collection of duds you are never going to vape (because the only thing worse than ordering a flavour you hate and never using it is ordering a flavour you hate and being forced to use it out of desperation when it is all you have left), give the e-liquids you don’t like to someone else. Everyone has different tastes, and someone else is bound to love the flavour you hate most. Pass on the unpalatable to people who will appreciate it.
When buying e-juice online, experimentation is key. Sample packs and reviews may narrow your options, but tasting is still going to be the ultimate test. Unfortunately, you will accumulate some flavours you dislike in the process, but you can always redistribute the losers to someone else. Given enough time, you will eventually find a flavour that makes you love vaping.
