The History of E Juice and E Cigarettes
The E Cigarettes and E juice fad seems to have completely swept the nation over the past couple of years. It seems like everywhere you turn there is either a commercial advertising E Cigarettes or someone smoking one. These E Cigarettes have been marketed as an “healthier alternative” to smoking nicotine cigarettes. Though these electronic cigarettes are becoming more popular, most people are not aware of long history of E Cigarettes. The history of E Cigs dates all the way back to the early sixties. To better understand the greatness of this product, you need to know some history of it.
First Beginnings of E Juice
The earliest E Cigarette can be traced all the way back to 1963, by Herbert A. Gilbert. Herbet was responsible for patenting a prototype device of a smokeless cigarette that contains no tobacco or nicotine. This device would in theory replace burning tobacco and paper, with a heated flavoured mist. The device would be heated up electronically, causing steam to be produced, instead of smoke. Within the next four years Herbert was approached by numerous companies all anxious to manufacture and produce this device. Unfortunately all efforts to push this product failed, and the product was shelved in 1967.
The Resurgence of E Juice
For nearly thirty years the mass market was unaware of the idea of an electronic cigarette. This all eventually changed in 2003 when a Chinese Pharmacist by the name of Hon Lik invented the modern electronic cigarette. Hon Lik decided to use an ultrasound powered device that would produce a smoke like vapour. His invention totally revolutionized the smoking industry and caused quite a stir during its initial release. The initial purpose of this electronic cigarette device was to help people who wanted to stop smoking.
During May of the very next year the look of Electronic Cigarettes changed considerably. Golden Dragon Holdings was the name of the company that Hon Lik worked for. The company decided to change its name to Ruyan and began to exporting E Cigarettes and E Juice. Though Ruyan had been selling its products for nearly 4 years, it was not unto 2007 when it officially received its international patent. As this product began to receive worldwide notoriety the product began to go through some incredible changes. The first generation E Cigarette was originally designed with a three simple parts. As time progressed these three part E Cigarette was replaced by a UK device called the “cartomizer”. The Cartomizer acts as a cooling and heating chamber for the E Cigarette.
A Look Back: E Juice and E Cigarettes
The history of E Juice goes back almost thirty years. During the late sixties Herbert A Gilbert created the first prototype of an smokeless cigarette. Although his early patents were sought after by some companies, the device never made it to the marketplace. Fortunately, nearly forty years later the Hon Lik created a new device called the Electronic Cigarette. This E Cigarette quickly became popularized in China and all over Asia. In 2007 the device finally was internationally patented. The Cartomizer was designed by the United Kingdom creators Umer and Tariq Sheikh.
